Augment’s Context Engine emphasizes a continuously updated understanding of code, dependencies, and history. The ambition is compelling because stale context can make an otherwise capable agent confidently wrong.

## The principle that stayed

Freshness is part of correctness. A context packet should identify the revision it describes and say when indexing is incomplete or out of date.

## Where CodeVetter stands

Our graph and history receipts report indexed revisions and stale states. Augment was a context-engine research reference; CodeVetter does not use its hosted index.
