# gitoxide — tools that shaped CodeVetter

Git history can be explored through an owned Rust interface.

## What we admire

gitoxide is an ambitious Rust implementation of Git. Its library approach was worth considering for local history traversal and diff processing, where process boundaries and correctness both matter.

## The principle that stayed

An integration has to improve a measured bottleneck or capability. A cleaner dependency graph on paper does not justify replacing a working Git CLI path without parity evidence.

## Where CodeVetter stands

Our OSS review kept gitoxide on a watchlist. CodeVetter continues to use its current Git path for history evidence; gitoxide is not a production dependency.
