Fast, plain text search is often the right first step in code exploration.

## What we admire

ripgrep proves the value of a small, dependable tool that does one job extremely well. Search gives both agents and people direct paths into source without a complex indexing service.

## The principle that stayed

Use the simplest search that answers the question, then read the file and verify the claim. A matching line is context, not proof that a runtime path was exercised.

## Where CodeVetter stands

Our integration decision permits opportunistic local search while keeping it optional. CodeVetter does not require ripgrep to be installed or confuse text matches with verified behavior.
