# Windsurf — tools that shaped CodeVetter

## What we admire

Windsurf’s Cascade put retrieval, workspace state, rules, and recent activity into a single coding flow. Its context choices were useful material for our research into how agents understand a repository.

## The principle that stayed

A context system should know what is current, what came from memory, and what was directly read. Persistent notes can help, but stale notes require an explicit check against source.

## Where CodeVetter stands

Our graph and history receipts identify revisions and mark stale coverage. Windsurf is a research reference; no Cascade service is part of CodeVetter.
